Justice and Peace shall embrace” Psalms 85:10
Journeying together for reconciliation in a fractured Europe

(21 – 24 June 2018)

An increasingly fractured Europe needs reconciliation and peace. Encouraged by the psalmist’s vision that “justice and peace shall embrace” (Ps 85:10), we will deepen our theological and political reflection on the concept of ‘Just Peace’.
The Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace is taking the ecumenical movement from ‘Just War‘ to ‘Just Peace‘, a journey started by the World Council of Churches’ (WCC) gatherings in Kingston, Jamaica, and Busan, South Korea. Church and Peace as the ecumenical network of Christian communities, churches and organisations in Europe committed to the peace church vision stimulates and joins this pilgrimage, as we celebrate the gifts of life, visit the wounds of broken relationships and work to transform injustice.

Delegates from Christian traditions throughout Europe are invited to journey together through moments of worship, to deepen the spirituality and language of nonviolence, to reflect on the challenges of injustice and violence, and to encourage one another for concrete actions lying ahead.

Join us on the journey!
